My Name is Martin Andreasson. I am a freelance photographer based in Sweden Stockholm.
I started taking an interest to photography at quite an early age.
Beginning with old film cameras taking shots of the family and friends arranging photo albums and writing about the images i had created.
My family always had a creative streak within them. Ranging from my grandfathers who painted and did photography to my brother who is also creative in Swedish television and with music.
My own father with poetry and language .
I always felt like film and photography was my medium and later in life i started photography school for several years that started my education to becoming a better photographer.
I did my apprenticeship at Swedish Television and then at famous Swedish photographer Carl Bengtsson which gave me a lot of inspiration.
I Worked as an assistant to photographer Mats Widén for a while and after that started freelancing.
My main area in photography would be portraiture , although i also do a lot of Documentary and street photography . When i do my own projects i shoot everything, and what i feel like expressing at that time. It can be landscapes, portraits, street or just documenting things that interests or fascinates me.
I shoot in color and B/W although Black and White lies closest to my heart since i started out in darkroom using B/W to create my images. My greatest passion lies in telling stories in black and white using my photography as my medium.
I use a few different cameras when i shoot. But i feel most at home using old manual lenses and my Nikon DF. But when i need to i use a lot of other gear as well ranging from portable Speedlights and foldable backgrounds to be able to travel easy with the equipment.
I constantly learn new things and get inspired by images and photographers from all over the world. I feel like my photographic journey is still only in its beginning…
